For the past few years, I have been feeding the birds in my backyard here in South Florida. They have brought me Peace, Love, and a serene, tranquil environment that I continue to enjoy to this day.

Blue Jays, Cardinals, Doves, Munias, Painted Buntings, and Red-bellied Woodpeckers frequent the bird feeders in my backyard. This project is, in large part, a tribute to them, but in truth, it feels more as though we are partners. I am A Feathered Poet because of the birds, without question.

And, of course, our front and backyard are visited daily by peacocks. Their population continues to grow each year, making their feathers plentiful and providing a beautiful, naturally shed material for me to collect.

What started as a fun craft that I shared with the women in my family has grown into something much more.

The birds I create are not perfect, but every bird is crafted with the energy of Love. Each piece is accompanied by poetry that helps articulate its meaning. These words have lived within me for a long time, written in journals over the past decade and beyond. Only now does it feel as though they have found their perfect companion: something beautiful to look at that helps convey the feelings behind the words.

We need more Love in this world, and I hope you can feel it in the pieces I have shared and in the words that accompany them.

If you are interested in learning more about me as an artist, I am also the author of The Age of Acceptance, available wherever books are sold as an ebook and audiobook.

With all the Love that is possible, thank you.
